Welcome all to another season of wonderful golf at our beautiful club. It is with great pride that I have accepted the position of junior chair. My predecessor, Bob Fraser, did a great job and has moved on to become our club's president. I hope to be able to continue the task of developing our young players. They, after all, are our greatest resource. We have an impressive group of youngsters coming up the ranks and I am certain they will within a few years be giving our top players a run for their money. I am a product of the junior golf program here in Chester and some of my fondest memories are of the field days, provincial tournaments and club events that I competed in when I was younger. I want to give this generation of players the same fulfilling experience. Our pros, Chad and Keith, do an exceptional job of teaching the kids and are a great asset. They, along with the support of club volunteers, in combination with myself will give the kids a solid foundation in golf. Todd Gates Junior Chair Junior Golf Instruction: Junior golf clinics proved to be very successful in 2009 with over 50 kids participating. Clinics were divided into three sessions starting late May with Warm up/Beginner Instruction. Then in July, Summer Instruction and our new Junior Playing Lessons program began. These playing lessons took place Wednesday morning and enabled the kids to spend time on the course testing their skills and learning the etiquette of the game. Registration for 2010 Clinics will take place Monday, May 10th at 6:30pm. JUNIOR NOVICE REGULATIONS A. Playing Times Juniors (Ages 13-18) 1. Handicap: - 15 and under - Unrestricted playing privileges. 2. Weekdays: - Before 4 pm and after 6 pm - Unrestricted playing privileges. - Between 4 pm and 6 pm - Must be accompanied by a Senior member. 3. Weekends: - Before 2 pm - Must be accompanied by a Senior member. - After 2 pm - Unrestricted playing privileges. Novice (Ages 12 and Under) 1. Weekdays and Weekends: - Before 2 pm - No playing privileges. - After 2 pm - Must be accompanied by a Senior member. SENIORS - Please, take time to play with our Junior and Novice members.
